Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Installation Technician to join our team, focusing on the installation of wireless voice, data, and video systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing backbone hardware, field hardware, cable pulling, grounding equipment, antenna, and line work, as well as vehicle equipment installations.
Job Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a team-oriented mindset and a commitment to meeting customer needs and company objectives.
- Install the latest wireless voice, data, and video products, such as Motorola digital radio technology for mobile and fixed applications, and Avigilon Video and Access Control systems for government, large Enterprise, healthcare, education, and commercial customers.
- Provide Tier 1 service support by replacing defective components through standard troubleshooting procedures.
- Utilize various test equipment to configure, stage, and diagnose electronic issues within communication systems, such as computers, communication system analyzers, oscilloscopes, tone generators, watt meters, cable testers, antenna sweep gear, multimeters, tone and probe kits, and test sets. Training will be available for advanced testing equipment.
- Collaborate with customers to establish deadlines, priorities, timelines, and schedules for completing installation work.
- Adhere to safe, basic housekeeping practices in all work areas according to OSHA guidelines.
- Participate in training provided by ERS Wireless to build expertise in the wireless voice, data, and video products that we sell and service.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years experience in installation of communication systems, audiovisual systems, networking, or other related industries.
- Proficiency in interpreting schematics, blueprints, and diagrams.
- Experience installing vehicular communication systems such as two-way radios, camera systems, mobile data systems, modems, lights and sirens, GPS systems, and consoles in various types of vehicles.
- Solid understanding of RF systems and networking design and troubleshooting.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to see various hand and power tools.
- Capability to complete reports and documentation associated with job tasks.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in installation work while maintaining efficiency and adhering to timeframes.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. without assistance.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
