Job Description :
This is a 9-month position. Applicants must have a valid Alabama Teaching Certificate for appropriate position. Master's degree preferred but not required. Must have at least five years teaching experience. See full descriptions below: Instructional Coach QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of five years teaching experience.
  • Each Instructional Coach employee in the Dothan City Schools shall provide the following as condition of employment:
  • Valid Alabama teacher's certificate with appropriate endorsement.
  • Copy of college or university transcript.
  • SALARY LEVEL: Based upon Board approved Salary Schedule FLSA STATUS : Exempt REPORTS TO : Principal TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the system's approved compensation plan. Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the system. REQUIRED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Possesses effective human relation skills.
  • Exhibits Professionalism, Dedication, and Flexibility.
  • Exhibits strong knowledge of current research of the best practice of Effective Intervention Strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of Diagnostic and Prescriptive Techniques.
  • Ability to compile an analyze date using statistical procedure to determine the effective of the core academic program concentrating and Math and Science.
  • Ability to serve as a Resource Person for Teachers as well as act as a Liaison between the schools, central office, assigned outside exert , assigned state department contract personnel. And state department accountability team.
  • Experience in planning or conducting professional development activities for faculty and staff.
  • Exhibits Strong Interpersonal Skills.
  • Assists in assessing students abilities as related to desired educational goals, objective, and outcomes.
  • Assists administrators and teachers in planning appropriate instructional/learning strategies and actives, including determination of appropriate principals of learning, classroom organizational structures, and selection of appropriate level of materials.
  • Assists in implementing and instructional program which provides appropriate learning experience for each student.
  • Coordinates instructional activities and collaborates with other professional staff - both system and school-based, as required, to maximize learning opportunities.
  • Utilizes a variety of instructional materials, available multimedia, and computer technology to enhance learning.
  • Participates in in-service and staff development activities and staff meetings as required or assigned.
  • Continually assesses student achievement and maintains appropriate assessment and evaluation documentation for institutional and individual reporting purposes.
  • Assists in maintaining allotted learning time to maximize student achievement.
  • Collaborates with other professionals (guidance counselors, librarians, etc.)
  • Maintains and submits records and reports.
  • Adheres to school systems rules, administrative procedures, local board policy, and state and federal rules and regulations.
  • Reports to work on time and is in regular attendance.
