Job Description :
Description - Provide ongoing campus based instructional modeling and compliance training for all teachers and teacher assistants implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for student receiving services in special education.
- Assist Special Education Region Managers and Coordinators with providing supports to all campuses and vertical teams within assigned region. Serve as a point of contact and mentor for campus teachers.
- Collect and analyze district, campus, and student data to assist in planning instructional programs, making informed decisions, and monitoring program effectiveness.
- Implement a standard research-based coaching and feedback model of support to assist teachers with instructional growth; Ensure the implementation of program standards and best practices by conducting classroom observations and/or review IEPs, and providing formative feedback.
- Schedule and conduct consultations/observations of student performance in the educational setting to ensure implementation of IEPs, and provide written, formative feedback to campus staff for continued improvement.
- Assist with the creation and implementation of campus action plans addressing campus needs; communicate feedback, proposed resolutions, and completion of action items with Region Manager in a timely manner.
- Assist campus staff with creating and implementing special education staff schedules, classroom schedules, and individual student schedules according to IEPs.
- Maintain written documentation of campus visits, observations, recommendations in a centralized, easily accessible location for review by Region Managers and Executive Directors, and Principals.
- Organize and lead professional learning opportunities for district approved intervention programs, initiatives, and best practices; monitor the implementation of intervention programs, initiatives, and best practices to determine additional training needs.
- Assist Region Managers and Coordinators with ensuring compliance with state, federal, and district regulations.
- Assist central and campus-based staff with analyzing various types of data to impact instruction and assessments.
- Attend professional development in special education, mentoring, and leadership to remain up to date on new research on how children learn, emerging technology tools for the classroom, and curriculum initiatives.
- Attend critical Admission, Review, and Dismissal Committee meetings to provide coaching and feedback to campus teachers on opportunities for growth to include support recommendations provided by Special Services.
- Assist Region Manager and Coordinator in conducting periodic internal audits of campus level special education data, records, and internal controls.
- Deliver and/or retrieve curriculum materials and resources, consumable materials, data notebooks, audit folders, etc.; maintain records and inventory of distributed/returned items to/from campuses.
- Respond to campus requests for assistance and provide assistance to campuses in resolving special education related issues and concerns in a timely manner.
- May provide direct support to students in high-needs classrooms and/or to campuses with critical needs.
- All federally funded incumbents of this position must comply with time and effort reporting requirements through personnel activity reports or periodic certification, as appropriate.
- Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications- Required bachelor's degree in a directly related field; valid Texas teacher certificate with required Special Education endorsements; Master's degree preferred
- Required 3+ years teaching experience in special education; Early Childhood Special Education settings preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to align special education instructional standards with Pre-Kindergarten Guidelines and TEKS.
- Skilled in working successfully with other professionals and evaluation staff.
- Demonstrated computer literacy in special education program applications.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in written and oral format.
- Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum trends, innovative programs, and best practices for students with disabilities ages 3-5.
- Demonstrated knowledge of structured teaching methodology and techniques.
- Must have own transportation.
