I&C Project Engineer (Nuclear) – 1-Year Contract

Pay Rate: $85 - $95/hr
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced I&C Project Engineer to support design modifications at a nuclear power facility. The candidate will work with a cross-functional team of station stakeholders, project leads, and project managers to evaluate and implement plant design modifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and prepare engineering products including Design/Engineering Change packages, specifications, calculations, and technical evaluations.
- Oversee contracted engineering work to ensure compliance with industry and plant standards.
- Provide technical support for Factory and Site Acceptance Testing and Simulations, including reviewing and approving procedures.
- Interface with suppliers and stakeholders to facilitate technical reviews and project input.
- Assess engineering risks and failure modes while incorporating mitigation strategies in design solutions.
- Report project status to engineering team leads, project managers, and senior management.
- Support construction/implementation phases, addressing field change evaluations and resolving technical issues.
Top Required Skills:
Experience with nuclear power plant design, systems, and components.Strong background in Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineering.Technical writing experience for specifications and engineering documents.MUST have experience with #: IP-ENG-001 compliant design. Soft Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lead, collaborate, and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in Nuclear Operations (SRO/STA).
- 50.59 or equivalent regulatory experience.
- Engineering Specification Qualification.
- Familiarity with nuclear power plant control systems, including DCS and PLC systems.
- Hands-on experience with power generation industrial control systems.
- Expertise in power plant control systems, turbine controls, and balance of plant systems.
- Strong understanding of advanced control theory and control system analysis.
Experience Requirements:
- 6+ years of directly related I&C engineering experience within a nuclear power station.
- 10+ years of overall industry experience.
Education & Licensing:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Computer, or I&C Engineering (or equivalent field experience).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license - current or past (preferred)
