Leaf Forge is seeking an INSTRUMENTATION AND ELECTRICAL (I/E) TECHNICIAN for our Pryor, Oklahoma facility.Job Summary: The Instrumentation and Electrical (I/E) Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of electrical and instrumentation systems within a tobacco primary manufacturing facility. This role ensures that all equipment operates efficiently and safely, adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Instrumentation and Electrical Maintenance:
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot instrumentation and electrical systems, including PLCs, SCADA, sensors, motors, control panels, and HMI screens.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical and instrumentation equipment.
- Calibrate and configure instrumentation devices to ensure accurate readings and control.
System Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
- Monitor the performance of electrical and instrumentation systems to identify potential issues.
- Diagnose and repair faults in electrical circuits, control systems, SCADA, HMI screens, and instrumentation devices.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and software to pinpoint and resolve equipment malfunctions.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, calibrations, and repairs.
Installation and Upgrades:
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Recommend and implement upgrades to improve system performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams on equipment modifications and improvements.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of all instrumentation and electrical work, including maintenance logs, calibration reports, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and equipment manuals.
- Generate reports on system performance, maintenance activities, and equipment status.
- Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible for reference and compliance audits.
Automation and Control Systems:
- Work with automation systems to optimize and maintain manufacturing processes.
- Configure and program PLCs and other automation controllers to enhance system performance.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other maintenance personnel, engineers, and production staff to coordinate activities and minimize production interruptions.
- Provide training and support to junior technicians and apprentices.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to address complex technical issues and improve overall plant performance.
RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate degree or technical certification in instrumentation, electrical engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in instrumentation and electrical maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of PLCs, SCADA, DCS, HMI systems, automation, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and industrial control networks.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing, climbing and lifting heavy objects.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in electrical and instrumentation maintenance.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work is performed in a tobacco primary manufacturing facility.
- Exposure to high temperatures, loud noises and industrial equipment.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
