Instrumentation & Control (PLC) Support SpecialistWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Instrumentation & Control Support Specialist to join our dynamic team. The Instrumentation & Control Support Specialist is an integral bridge between the Engineering and Sales teams. This role is a primary contact point responsible for providing in-depth technical support for all innovateIT car wash equipment.What's in it for you?

What you would be doing:
  • Deliver remote and on-site technical support during new installations, equipment startups, and general inquiries to ensure seamless customer operations.
  • Serve as a core technical resource for customer help desk inquiries.
  • Work with customers to resolve both mechanical and electrical or controls related issues.
  • Ensure that root cause information is delivered to engineering so that design related issues can be addressed.
  • Assist with product documentation to allow more efficient customer service and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Interface with sales to ensure that customer relationships are properly managed.
  • Participate in conversations to feedback field requests and possible changes to engineering so that installs, and product maintenance occur as easily as possible.
  • Speak with various trades and service individuals through installation and troubleshooting.
  • Aid with the commissioning of equipment. This may include mechanical installation, electrical installation, sensor calibration, VFD parameter programming, computer networking and run off testing.
  • Support of other field service technicians through technical guidance and office support.
  • Troubleshooting both PLC and relay-based control equipment.
  • Diagnosing 3 phase electrical distribution networks and comfort in working on equipment up to 600V.
  • Use PLC programming software to observe code and diagnose complex issues within equipment.
  • Assist in field wiring of control circuits and system integration activities.
  • Redline design documentation if requirements necessitate changes in field.
  • Maintain field service documentation during installations.
  • Assist in the setup and troubleshooting of Ethernet wiring to support Ethernet/IP VFD control and PLC communication.
  • Troubleshoot HMI displays to ensure reliable system performance.
What we are looking for:Required
  • Technical associate degree or higher in Electrical Engineering/Mechatronics/IEC or related field is preferred.
  • Requires proficiency in Program Logic Control (PLC) operation & associated software (i.e. Allen Bradley, Logix5000/ Studio5000, Omron CX, Omron Sysmac Studio).
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills as well as ability to solve problems.
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude and a comfort working with a variety of hand tools and systems.
  • Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, energetic environment and manage competing priorities.
  • Must be detail-oriented and well organized.
  • Ability to read and produce wiring diagrams and other documentation.
  • Basic understanding of variable-frequency drives (VFD).
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time and for as long as 1 week to customer locations across the country.
Preferred:
  • 2 or more years of experience with electrical controls, hydraulic, pneumatic systems, electric drives, HMI Programming (Omron preferred), and digital control systems.
  • Previous experience with networking the following platforms: Ethernet, TCP/IP, Serial, DeviceNet.
  • Experience with PLC Database Connections.
