Insulator, 1st Shift - Johnson Controls : Job Details

As a member of the Johnson Controls team, you will be responsible for insulating and assembling panels, doors, walls, and drain pans for installation in commercial air handling units.Johnson Controls is a global leader in smart, healthy and sustainable buildings, with a mission to reimagine the performance of buildings to serve people, places and the planet.Key Responsibilities:Identify and assemble parts to specificationInstall windows, hardware, and other purchased parts into assembly per specificationInsulate panels as described on specification sheetLabel panels with part number and team IDPlace panels in proper carts for delivery to the lineComplete appropriate paperwork to include production log, panel sheet, and deviation reportsDisassemble panels that have been damaged or assembled incorrectlyUtilize rivet gun, air gun, knife, hand held spot welder, and other hand tools to perform dutiesAssist others in the performance of their dutiesReport work-related injuries and near misses to supervisionWear all required PPE and follow applicable safety/environmental rulesCorrect or report unsafe conditions observed within the plantRequirements:Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memosAbility to write simple correspondenceAbility to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situationsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measureAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formWork Environment:Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particlesNoise level in the work environment is usually moderateOccasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawlRegularly required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
