Summary of Working as an Intact Family Services Caseworker:

• The Intact Family Services Caseworker is responsible for providing family-based intervention and family preservation services to families with open intact family cases referred by DCFS.
• Seeking a self-starter to fill this full time, hourly role (37.5+ hours per week) working a mix of office and field work (some evening and weekend duties as needed to serve clients' schedules).
• Pay: hourly/non-exempt euivalent to $50,336/year based on experience, certification, and education
• Sign-on Bonus for those with Intact CWEL: $2,500

Responsibilities:

• Assessment: Conducts initial and ongoing assessments of strengths, needs, and risk factors, in accordance with the Intact Family Services plan.
• Service Planning: With the input of client families, develops and implements service plans in accordance with the Intact Family Services plan. Directs implementation of client services and treatment goals. Makes referrals to community service providers to address issues such as housing, mental health, substance abuse treatment, or domestic violence.
• Case Management, Advocacy, and Support: In accordance with each family's service plan, provides case management, mentoring, advocacy, support, and education that will protect children and preserve families. Counsels individuals regarding issues including, but not limited to: parenting, unemployment, housing, substance abuse, domestic violence, trauma, child care, and/or medical care.
• Recordkeeping and Reporting: Completes and maintains case notes, client records, reports and other required documentation according to agency guidelines for completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.
• Legal and Ethical Responsibilities: Complies with all pertinent state and federal laws, DCFS Rules and Procedures, and the Code of Ethics for Child Welfare Professionals. Provides court testimony related to services provided to clients as required. Informs the supervisor of any legal issues related to agency services.

Requirements of an Intact Family Services Caseworker:

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related field.
• At least one year of child welfare or direct case management experience required.
• Valid driver's license with adequate auto insurance
• CWEL (Child Welfare Employee License) preferred, but will provide training for licensure if needed
