LOCATION: Long Island, Brooklyn, Queens, NY REPORTS TO: Executive Vice President (EVP) of PQI DEPARTMENT: Performance Quality Improvement SCHEDULE: Full-Time / Hybrid AGENCY BACKGROUND: MercyFirst is a not-for-profit human and social service agency that has been serving children and families in need since we were founded by the Sisters of Mercy/Hermanas de las Misericordia in 1894. Today our agency continues to address the emotional and physical needs of children and families in Brooklyn, Queens and across Long Island through innovative treatments and life-changing interventions. We provide community-based prevention and family foster care services, group homes in the community for struggling children and families within the child welfare and juvenile justice systems, and short-term residential services for unaccompanied migrant children. Each year, MercyFirst serves more than 3,000 children, teenagers and families overcome enormous obstacles, re-imagine their futures and develop their full potential. PROGRAM BACKGROUND: The Performance and Quality Improvement Department is responsible for the agency's information, program and operational quality, compliance, program data tracking, reporting and quality/performance improvement processes across MercyFirst. PQI ensures MercyFirst meets all regulatory and contractual program performance and facility requirements across the agency. Led by the Chief Quality Officer, PQI staff support programs the above areas along with conducting continuous quality improvement activities such as case record reviews, utilization reviews, stakeholder surveys, KPIs and outcome measures. SUMMARY: The Intake/ PQI Manager reports to the Executive Vice President (EVP) of PQI. The Intake/PQI Manager is responsible for the oversight of the Intake department and a member of the PQI team providing support to the EVP as needed. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A bachelor's degree is required with a preference for candidates holding an MSW or a related degree.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience required.
  • Possess knowledge and training in working with children, adolescents, and families, including understanding child and adolescent development stages. Detail-oriented and proficient in data analysis.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Reporting directly to the EVP of PQI, the PQI Manager will act as the primary strategic and management partner to the EVP of PQI, attending all appropriate meetings, with or in lieu of the EVP of PQI, and act as the designee as required.
  • Represent the EVP of PQI at meetings, conferences, special events, as requested.
  • Provide overall direction and supervision of the Intake Department.
  • Provide direct supervision to the Intake Supervisor and other assigned staff.
  • Supervise, support and evaluate all activities of the Intake Department to ensure meeting of goals.
  • Oversee planning and coverage for the Intake department, including managing after-hours placement calls on a rotational basis.
  • Develop and implement a plan to increase and maintain admission of children to meet contractual obligations, strategic plan goals and agency needs.
  • Coordinate with other departments and staff to ensure the agency fulfills its contractual obligations and meets the needs of the children served.
  • Represent MercyFirst in interactions with OPA/APA and other oversight agencies.
  • Analyze data and prepare and complete reports on intake, admissions and foster home on a monthly, quarterly and as-needed basis.
  • Ensure data entry and integrity in all systems as it pertains to placements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
