Job DescriptionIntake/Runner SpecialistIntake/Runner Specialist serves as the first point of contact for all asylum seekers at a NYC Health + Hospital Emergency Response and Relief Center (HERRC) and or NYC Housing recovery Development (HPD) facilities. The Intake/Runner Specialist assist clients with the initial intake processing, admission, provide ongoing support to the exit plan team, and other administrative service needs.Compensation & Benefits:
- Estimated Starting Salary Range for Intake/Runner Specialist: Pay commensurate with experience.
- Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.
Intake/Runner Specialist Responsibilities Include:
- Assist clients throughout the intake procedure
- Issue a 60-day notice to clients upon their admission
- Accompany clients to exit planner area
- Ability to move continuously by accompanying guest to intake appointments via walking corridors, stairs et.
- Support clients' meetings with exit planners
- Ensure client data is maintained in Host database protocols and in compliance with contract agreement terms.
- Perform clerical work such as printing and other duties as assigned.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Intake/Runner Specialist Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
- Bachelor's degree, preferred in social work or other human services field + two years of relevant experience working with people who enter the U.S. seeking asylum.
- Ability to move continuously by accompanying guest to intake appointments via walking corridors, stairs et. NOTE: this position is on your feet for the majority of the shift while assisting guests
- Must possess strong organizational skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of culturally sensitive services.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to learn quickly and problem-solve under pressure and within prescribed timelines.
- Excellent oral, listening and written communications skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Identify potential issues and challenges.
- Empathy and understanding of the services.
- Identify problems or obstacles.
- Develop effective solutions.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Professionalism and confidentiality knowledge and skills
- Second language fluency is desired (Spanish).
- Past applicable job experience may include, but is not limited to: Client Intake Coordinator, Enrollment Specialist, or Admissions Coordinator.
