Intake Worker (Admissions) Monday- Friday 9:00am-5:00pmAre you passionate about making a difference in others' lives? Then come join the Straight and Narrow team! Headquartered in Paterson, NJ, Straight and Narrow is the largest program of its kind. We provide innovative and compassionate services to individuals struggling with substance use and co-occurring disorders. We are looking for dedicated, caring and compassionate people to work in our Residential/Outpatient Treatment Facilities and Community Programs. Intake Worker - AdmissionsSchedule per week: Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm Location: Paterson, NJ Job Specific Responsibilities and Duties
Conduct admission to HWH, long-term, Detox, Intensive outpatient/outpatient treatment and short-term residential treatment Review and complete all required admission documents Provide new clients with basic information regarding our services/ programs Complete required modules in Electronic Health Record (EHR) and NJSAMS such as DMHAS Income Eligibility, Addiction Severity Index, DSM V, and LOCI. Obtain clinical authorization for admission when required. Forward designated documents to internal departments (e.g. medical department and welfare case manager) Communicate with program staff regarding completed admissions Submit all completed admissions documentation to the Director of Admissions for review in a timely manner. Ensure that files are inclusive to include all documentation as required by DMHAS and/or other credentialing entities. Assist with managing referrals and service inquiries, as assigned, which may include the following: Respond to and manage all messages from external and internal sources Conduct telephone screening interviews with clients seeking treatment at Straight and Narrow. Complete screening documentation in a comprehensive, consistent, and detail-oriented manner. Request collateral documentation, when appropriate. Follow-up on pending referrals in a timely manner, and make outreach calls to expedite admission scheduling; document accordingly Establish and maintain positive, professional interactions and relationships with referrals sources, community stakeholders, and any person or organization making contact with Straight and Narrow. Assist admissions department with other duties as assigned by Admissions Coordinator and/or Director of Admissions including but not limited to scheduling, case management, completion of preadmission consent forms, billing and filing. Assist office manager with agency roster which includes adding new admissions for the day as well as updating discharges throughout the day as needed which includes client ID number, first/last name, funding source and DOB. Assist with preparing monthly state rosters and send to DCP&P and state. Assist office manager with checking Medicaid eligibility daily and obtaining new funding sources when needed. Assist with obtaining initial authorizations with clients who have special Medicaid and or third-party insurance. Assist with collecting and documenting all property received by clients including, ID'S, money, Cell phones etc. Assist with managing property and ID'S when counselors are signing them in and out of admissions department. Assist in applying presumptive eligibility for new admissions and existing client's Medicaid has expired. Participate in supervision, team meetings, and other agency committees as scheduled and/or assigned. Inform and submit documentation regarding progress towards obtaining CADC/LCADC on a quarterly basis to the Director of Admissions Follow all Electronic Health Records (EHR) policies. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree with 2 years' experience in Human Services with CADC or High School Diploma or GED with 5 years' experience in Human Services with CADC. If counselor intern does not have CADC he/she must be actively pursuing CADC and present supervisor with documentation demonstrating progress towards obtaining certification on a quarterly basis. Good interpersonal, verbal and written skills. Excellent working knowledge of computers. Benefits For full time positions, we offer medical, vision, dental, life and supplemental life insurance.
