Department: COMCAREPay: $24.15 per hour | This position may be eligible for a sign on bonus of $2,500 after 60 days of employment if selected applicant meets all policy conditions.Work Schedule: Varied HoursIn a team environment, provide face to face crisis intervention in the community to those experiencing a behavioral health crisis. Will assist the Integrated Care Teams (ICT 2-5) Clinician by responding to all appropriate CRS requests in a timely manner, deploying as a team with the Wichita Police Department (WPD) to incidents where the services of a behavioral health professional may be more effective in addressing the incident. In addition, answering emergency calls for service requests with a suspected or confirmed mental health crisis component. Assess current level of dangerousness for patients who report a psychiatric crisis, provide crisis case management services applying Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) practices as needed, and support suicide prevention efforts in the community while upholding the mission and vision of COMCARE of Sedgwick County.Direct Service* Participate in all appropriate ICT 2-5 calls in person, accompanying and assisting the ICT 2-5 team members.* Assess current level of dangerousness for patients using the Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale. Will also use an evidenced based triage system for level of response/engagement for de-escalation and safety planning.* Engage patients using evidence-based practices to support de-escalation and safety planning.* Make appropriate referrals to other agencies, programs, or departments as required.* Contact service providers to request and arrange services; coordinate and monitor services rendered.* Create and initiate plans to ensure patients attend mental health appointments.* Support the clinical staff in the community by assisting with Mobile Crisis Unit requests.* Transport patients to the hospital when necessary.* Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.Documentation* Complete all progress notes in the electronic medical record (EMR) in accordance with CCBHC and COMCARE guidelines which meet requirements.* Documentation meets minimum Medicaid standards.* Completes Notes for Record in the EMR.* Completes call logs in the EMR.* Enter AIMS data as needed and respond to AIMS data staff in a timely manner.General Administrative Duties* Scheduling appointments as requested.* Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings and other activities as assigned.* Identify sources of information needed to provide comprehensive mental health treatment and secure the necessary COMCARE consents to release information.* Submit necessary referral forms to Team Supervisor for approval or assignment in the EMR.Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree. If no degree is present, applicant may substitute each one year of experience for one year of education. Per Sedgwick County policy, this is a driving level position that requires a valid US driver's license without restrictions and current proof of automobile insurance. Must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle and meet driver qualification standards as set forth in Sedgwick County's Fleet Vehicle Operation and Usage policy. Meet the specifications as outlined in the CMHC/CCBHC licensing standards and pass KBI, DCF child abuse check, adult abuse registry, and motor vehicle screens. Must complete orientations and training provided by Sedgwick County and COMCARE.Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a human services field.
