Job Type Part-timeDescriptionColumbia Gorge Community College (CGCC) is seeking to hire an Integrated Education and Training (IET) Coordinator to develop and implement IET tutoring strategies and supports, enhancing student experience and promoting successful degree and/or program completion. The IET Coordinator works in coordination with instructional program faculty and local industry partners. This position requires a demonstrated ability to work with individuals with diverse needs and backgrounds, as well as the capacity to work as a member of a diverse team.   • Coordinate in-person and/or virtual tutoring services for students enrolled in specific certificate programs at CGCC locations in The Dalles and Hood River.
  • Develop relationships with individual students to assess academic needs and provide ongoing support for successful degree or certificate completion.
  • Communicate regularly with instructors to identify challenging assignments so as to assist students in overcoming barriers to learning.
  • Conduct outreach and communication with partner agencies and employers to identify industry needs and recruit potential students.
  • Coordinate with Pre-College department to identify and support GED and ESOL students transitioning to certificate programs.
  • Empower students to be successful by fostering confidence and self-advocacy.
  • Identify strategies to improve study skills and develop independent problem solving and critical thinking.
  • Work with non-native English speakers to communicate and write in English specific to their program needs.
  • Refer and connect students to relevant College resources beyond the scope of academic support.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • EXPERIENCE
    • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with college students from different cultural heritages and identities and facilitating the coexistence of people in a culturally diverse community.
    • Minimum of one (1) year of experience tutoring or assisting college students to effectively study and maximize their potential for their academic success.
    • Experience and/or knowledge in interpreting lesson plans, assignments, and syllabi.
    • Experience in mentoring or advising students from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds.
    • Skilled in guiding students through developing organizational tools and other strategies to support students in their achievement of successful academic outcomes.
    • Experience working with non-native English speakers to communicate and write in English.
    • Experience with managing or coordinating an effective schedule to maintain consistent and equitable coverage for programs and students.
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
    EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUNDAssociates degree (bachelor's preferred) in education, counseling, health or related field with two years of professional experience.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS
    • Ability to plan, develop, coordinate, supervise, and organize programs, activities, and groups.
    • Communicate effectively with a variety of groups and individuals to achieve program objectives.
    • Must have excellent technology skills utilizing a variety of computer software.
    • Commitment to a student-centered learning environment and student success.
    • Understand the needs of first-generation, English for Speakers of Other Languages, nontraditional, and other underrepresented college students.
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from community partners, instructors, college administrators, students, and the general public.

Continuation of position dependent on continued funding after the grant end date of June 30, 2025.
