Job Description :

The Integrated Project Quality Control Engineer (QCE) is a crucial component of the AWS Data Center Capacity Delivery's (DCCD) Integrated Project Quality (IPQ) initiative. In this role, you will oversee and implement quality assurance and control (QAQC) processes throughout the entire lifecycle of data center construction projects, ensuring compliance with AWS's rigorous standards for quality, safety, and performance.

AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We are the backbone that keeps the cloud operational. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead QAQC processes in data center construction from pre-design to completion.
  • Evaluate design documents, offering insights into constructability and quality assurance practices.
  • Create and maintain quality control plans and documentation.
  • Perform onsite inspections to ensure adherence to AWS standards.
  • Coordinate with third-party Quality Control Agents/Vendors to guarantee thorough QAQC involvement.
  • Host regular quality meetings to address and resolve quality issues collaboratively.
  • Track and report quality metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across project phases.
  • Identify, document, and remedy quality defects in a timely manner.
  • Compile quality control turnover packages for important project phases.
  • Conduct final quality reviews with stakeholders prior to project handover.
  • Educate end customers on QAQC processes and applicable lessons learned.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives through quality data analysis.
  • Collaborate with Construction Management, Commissioning, and Engineering Operations for integrated project execution.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and AWS-specific quality standards to enhance control processes.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) or relevant experience.
  • 5+ years in quality control, construction management, or related fields, ideally in data centers or critical infrastructure projects.
  • Deep understanding of construction processes, mechanical and electrical systems, and quality control methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse teams.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% to various project sites across North and South America.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certifications (e.g., CQE, PMP, PE).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software (e.g., Procore).
  • Experience with data center infrastructure and complex systems.
  • Familiarity with AWS infrastructure and cloud computing concepts.
