Session: Summer (May - August) Position Title: Economic Assistance Intern Hiring Manager: Mary Dittmer Agency: Department of Social Services - Economic Assistance Location: Huron Minimum Salary: $18.60*APPLICANT MUST BE A CURRENT PART-TIME OR FULL-TIME STUDENT (MINIMUM OF 6 CREDIT HOURS) IN UPCOMING SEMESTER OR IN THE IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING SEMESTER. Position Description:Intern will assist Benefits Specialists in determining eligibility for Economic Assistance programs including Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. Intern will assist Benefits Specialists in reviewing applications, interviewing applicants, processing forms, entering data, assessing customers needs, and making appropriate referrals.Qualifications:Applicant must be enrolled as a part-time/full-time student at a college, university, or technical institute at the time they apply.
