Individuals required to use County vehicles and equipment must have a valid driver's license and be free of any major traffic violations for the last three (3) years. Nature of WorkUnder the supervision of the Director of Environmental Resources, this position will prepare a full cost accounting (FCA) of the county's integrated solid waste management system. Responsible for analyzing and calculating past and future outlays, overhead (oversight and support service), and system operating costs. Duties include analyzing solid waste disposal and recycling processes, identifying areas for cost reduction, and utilizing data analysis tools to identify patterns and trends in cost data. - Collect detailed cost data from various units within the department, including materials, labor, overhead, and utilities.
- Maintaining accurate cost records and ensuring proper documentation of cost components.
- Analyzing and reconciling cost variances between actual and standard costs.
- Assisting in the design and implementation of cost accounting systems to capture comprehensive cost data.
- Provides analytical support to various sustainability-focused projects and workstreams.
- Organizes and analyzes solid waste studies and activities for system improvement measures.
- Assists with developing solid waste management planning studies.
