Established under the AD are the Global Banking Unit ( GBU ), Americas Division and Global Market Unit ( GMU ), Americas Division which performs business functions. Position Overview:The Global Market Unit ( GMU ) is seeking an intern to support activities relating to Market Making, Investment and Asset Liability Management (ALM). The internship is designated to give a candidate a glimpse of day-to-day banking and market related activities. Such activities include the processing of trades, cash flow management, position and PL reconciliation, and the preparation of periodic and on demand reports. The Intern would support trade captures, trading activity reports, and learn risk calculations and compliance. Opportunity to join strategy meetings where investment decisions are determined. The Bank is seeking an eager, self-driven individual who wants to continuously learn and develop. Candidates should have a strong interest in finance and markets, demonstrate problem solving skills using logic and critical thinking, and thrive in a fast-paced environment using data to provide optimal results. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide general support to the Market Making, Investment and ALM teams in their daily operations with the oversight of a senior trading assistant.
  • Support the enhancement of GMU operational workflow to reduce operational burden and irregularities.
  • Support the planning and execution of GMU tasks.
  • Compile research, analysis and charts for weekly market strategy meeting.
  • Build relationships with other departments such as FORMAT, Back Office, and Middle office to help support resolution of any trade related issues.
  • Gather data and prepare for any necessary periodic and on-demand reports and documents.
  • Abide by all Compliance related procedures.
  • Assist in data maintenance and GMU-related administrative tasks.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Working towards a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in finance, economics, or related business program.
  • Possesses an understanding of financial markets.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong emphasis on Excel skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Good business mathematical skills with the ability to calculate quickly.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
