Job Description :
Position Summary: This position is responsible for the training and implementation of Quality Management System policies, procedures, plans, and work instructions. The Coordinator will report any deficiencies and corrective action proposals to the Quality Lead. The Coordinator will provide input on overall quality as determined by product test results. The successful candidate will support the working men and women on our waterfront by guiding and improving performance, and maintaining quality in the products produced by Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding.Detailed Description:
  • Create, collect and maintain records of Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) & Test & Inspection Records (TIR's) as required by regulatory bodies.
  • Maintain the calibrated equipment program and distribution.
  • Work in unison with the FBS Quality Department to ensure alignment in all areas of the business.
  • Be a resource as needed to help improve the quality of products produced throughout FBS.
  • Train and become an ISO Internal Auditor, and be available to participate in internal audits as needed.
  • Work closely with the production team to coordinate and schedule inspections and testing as needed with any applicable regulatory body to ensure compliance.
  • Participate in quality inspections and documentation with outsourced work.
  • Assist HR with the on-boarding of new employees into production.
  • Be a representative for interfacing with our Government Products Customers & Representatives.
  • Assist with training future Non-Destructive Testing personnel for them to achieve their Certifications.
  • Conduct training needs and enter training roster information into the training software.
  • Collect and document welder defect data and relay to Quality Lead.
  • Communicate employee skill levels with their supervisors to ensure proper job assignments.
  • Assist with non-conformance issues and resolutions, as well as corrective actions and root cause analysis.
  • Make Stop-Work recommendations to the quality lead if inspections and observations warrant the action.
  • Other duties and tasks as the QA Lead assigns them.
  • Ability and willingness to engage in highly energetic pursuits on the waterfront.
  • Maintain a commitment to and promote the Quality and Environmental, Health & Safety Policies.
  • Abide by and enforce all organizational policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program relating to the engineering field
Desired Qualifications:
  • Junior, Senior, or graduate level
  • Advanced coursework in the fields of Construction Management, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or Structural Engineering
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, modeling and drafting software
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to interact at all levels within the organization
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
