**Jefferson Wells** **has an immediate opportunity for an Internal Auditor to work with one of our clients on an open-ended contract engagement. While this is initially contract, it could become permanent for the right candidate. Ideally, candidates will be located in either Tampa, Florida or Stanford, Florida. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience with a global organization.**
**Pay Rate $35 - $45/HR**
**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Accountable for the development and coordination of the internal auditing activities.
- Develop and implement internal auditing policies, procedures, and programs.
- Review of accounting procedures.
- Survey functions and activities in assigned areas to determine the nature of operations, and adequacy of the system of control to achieve established objectives.
- Supervise or conduct independent audits of company records and activities, and prepare varied analyses of the departments, and branches for management.
- Supervise, conduct, and report on the testing and adequacy of the company's internal controls over financial reporting.
- Investigate and determine causes of irregularities and errors.
- Recommend corrective action and suggest improvement.
- Advise top management and the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors on audit and internal control matters.
**Education/Experience**
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in accounting from four-year college or university; Master's Degree is a plus. .
**Requirements**
- 3+ years of financial statement and SOX audit experience at a public traded company and/or Big 4 firm.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP, SOX requirements, COSO framework, and the audit process.
- Proficiency with multiple ERP/Software i.e. Oracle, SAP, JDE, Workday, Hyperion, etc.
