You will manage North American import logistics to ensure the products that our farmer customers need to grow their crops are delivered on time for the growing season at the best possible cost and in the most sustainable manner. You will be challenged with volatile customer demands, tight schedules, and daily decision making to optimally balance cost, service, and multiple stakeholders' needs. You will do this by developing valued relationships with ocean and air carriers, dray carriers, shipping sites, and our freight forwarding partners. In addition, you will use data and analytics to make informed choices and risk-based decisions in collaboration with our importing regions, suppliers, and supply chain partners to constantly optimize and improve - making logistics a competitive advantage for Corteva.

The primary responsibility of the North American International Trade Operations Specialist Import is to manage import shipping lanes for US & Canada. The NA ITO Specialist is accountable and empowered to achieve service and cost targets to delight our customers from through timely and compliant delivery at port or destination. The individual will work with governmental organizations and 3rd party logistics partners to proactively mitigate risk and costs, provide continuous improvement and problem solving. They will work with various functions and stakeholders to execute our work processes and manage performance in this dynamic supply chain environment. The role requires a high degree of effective interpersonal communication and diplomacy skills to interact with a broad range of key internal contacts and externally with our North American Customs brokers, U.S. EPA, overseas freight forwarders, carriers, suppliers and shipping sites, while driving continuous improvement. Responsibilities may also include fleet asset leases and maintenance operations and strategy.

What You'll Do:

+ Facilitate the import processes and ensure documentation and process compliance

+ Communication with importing or exporting regions, shipping sites, and carriers to track and coordinate shipment schedules, while troubleshooting daily escalations

+ Lead shipment prioritization and escalations with importing regions and drive alignment across all relevant stakeholders

+ Data-driven performance management of carriers and third-party logistics partners

+ Problem solving for compliance and shipping performance issues by engaging analytics, procurement, supply planning, compliance and freight forwarder partners to drive corrective actions

+ Collaboration with logistics procurement and 3PLs to establish carrier strategy and supplier selection

+ Training of suppliers and importing/exporting regions to drive compliance and performance

+ Support short and long-term capacity planning, including fleet sizing

+ ISO and Chassis Fleet management, including maintenance and qualifications

+ Cost planning and management, including expense monitoring and approval

+ Identification of cost and service improvement opportunities and project leadership to drive change

+ Engage and lead in new supply chain design and logistics work process strategy and implementation

+ Ensure compliance with safety regulations and corporate policies

Qualifications

What Skills You Need:

+ Bachelor's Degree required. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, business or technical field preferred.

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and analytical skills are required

+ Experience in SAP/TMS technology performing ITO/Logistics operations is favorable

+ Three or more years of experience in International Trade Operations is preferred.

+ Three or more years of experience in import/export required.

+ Broad understanding of supply chains, U.S. Customs and U.S. EPA regulations is preferred

+ Strong communication skills & teamwork. Ability to establish strong networks, relationships and disciplined communication with key stakeholders

+ Strong organizational skills, including the ability to effectively prioritize work and escalate when help is needed

+ Attention to detail is key. Successful ITO transactions require many process steps to be completed correctly by multiple parties. Must have the ability to troubleshoot issues, correct them and then provide feedback/training to address root cause

+ Driven in a fast-paced environment

+ Innovative mindset; there are opportunities for transformational improvement in this role

This role is required to work onsite at our Indianapolis, IN location 3 days a week (T/W/TH) and can be remote two days a week (M/F).
