Internship Summary The Intern role is within a specific Community Based Program to be able to develop skills through intense and detailed training. Children's Hope Alliance (CHA) will support the development of skills and work toward personal growth within the working field. CHA is looking for individuals with a strong sense of purpose and focus to continually build confidence in themselves and within our organization. Staff will work with program requirements as indicated by the interns' college/university. Interns will have the opportunity to shadow a licensed clinician weekly, learn the agency's Electronic Health Records System, participate and engage in child and family team meetings, individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, and be part of creating and learning assessments and treatment plans. *In person onboarding in Statesville, NC is required prior to internship start date.INTERNS WILL LEARN, PRACTICE, AND EXPERIENCE THE FOLLOWING: Assist established counselors in implementing family, individual, and group therapies. Coordinate and participate in treatment team and consultation meetings, including individual supervision. Coordinate all necessary services for continuity of care, which includes exposure to level of care requirements, related documentation, authorization processes, service definitions, and billing. Administer skill building sessions with clients and families. Present cases during Clinical Team Meetings with highly trained staff and senior clinicians. Prepare progress summaries, discharge summaries, effectiveness of care surveys, and other assigned reports in a timely, clear, and concise manner according to agency policy and procedure. Maintain all required medical record documentation, securing current consents and permissions in advance of the expiration of existing documents, including permission for treatment, consent for release of information, and other documents which are time limited. Exposure to and participation in a data-driven culture where objective, empirically validated tools are used to better the care of clients, improve program service delivery models, and enhance clinician's skills. Attend to medical records in a timely and compliant fashion, to include service and progress notes. Comply with all policies, practices, and procedures, and report all out-of-compliance or unsafe activities to site supervisor.
