Job Summary and QualificationsAs a Interventional Radiology/Special Procedures Nurse, you will be responsible for setup and assist physicians with procedures as needed (i.e., abscess drainage, biopsy, consent for invasive procedures and follow-ups, as necessary). What You Will Do In This Role:
* You will be responsible for EKG monitoring when necessary.
* You will be responsible for administering medications/blood as ordered.
* You will be responsible for start of saline locks and I.V.'s according to IVP/CT protocol.
* You will be responsible for catheterization of patients in department.
* You will monitor patients receiving I.V. sedation under the direct supervision of the Radiologist.
* You will be responsible for informing the Radiologist/Technologist of any penitent changes in the patient's condition.
What Qualifications You Will Need:
* Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing is required.
* Current Texas licensure with State Board of Nurse Examiners is required.
* BSN is preferred.
* Two years of hospital experience is required.
* Basic EKG certification is required.
* IV Therapy certification is required.
* IV Medication course is required.
* American Heart Association BLS certification is required.
* American Heart Association ACLS certified is required within six months of hire.
