Ergon Inc., in Flowood, MS currently has an opening for a Inventory Analyst in the Asphalt & Emulsions Division. Ergon, Inc. is a privately held company headquartered in Jackson, Mississippi. Ergon also produces, markets, and/or distributes paving asphalt, asphalt emulsions, specialty coatings, sealants, and other road construction and maintenance products from over thirty owned or leased asphalt and emulsions plants across the United States.The Inventory Analyst supports inventory management by reconciling discrepancies, assisting with SAP training for Operations, and resolving material cost questions.EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in business
- 2 years of experience in inventory management or cost accounting preferred
- SAP experience preferred
- Extremely proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Accounting, reconcilement, and finance skills
RE S P O N S I B I L I T I E S:
- Inventory Reconcilement: Act as a liaison between the accounting department and Asphalt & Emulsions terminals to assist in reconciling & troubleshooting daily and monthly inventory discrepancies.
- System & Process Training: Assist in training Operations personnel in the SAP inventory system, particularly in understanding the end-to-end inventory process as well as providing guidance on system navigation.
- Develop a thorough knowledge of SAP Silo Tank Management to aid Accounting and the business as inventory issues arise.
- Research and resolve raw material and finished goods cost questions that arise related to materials produced and sold by the business.
- Assist in implementing global inventory initiatives including:
- Companywide resolutions for internal audit inventory review findings.
- Act as IT contact to develop needed reports to assist in inventory review.
- Act as IT contact to prioritize tickets related to inventory system issues.
- Assist in data cleansing and training to implement the inventory process and systems at new locations post acquisitions.
- Develop and implement inventory improvement initiatives. This involves identifying and implementing ways to improve the efficiency and accuracy of inventory management.
- Assist Accounting with automation of reports to reduce need for unnecessary monthly manual entry of data.
- Act as point of contact for Technical Operations related to formula management within the SAP inventory system.
- Will need irregular travel as issues arise with inventory at terminals across the nation
