What you'll do

We are seeking our next Inventory Analyst to support the External Manufacturing team. The Inventory Analyst will be a key member in cross-functional Global Planning teams and will be accountable to their assigned business area to ensure timely and accurate inventory tracking and reporting to both external and internal stakeholders. By providing day-to-day guidance and to a cross-functional team, including representatives from purchasing, planning, cost accounting, finance, and logistics, they will lead all aspects of inventory management requirements.

During the planning and execution phases, the Inventory Analyst works closely with the cross-functional teams within Operations to ensure the inventory is optimally managed and all critical processes and suppliers (including contract manufacturers and distribution centers), are ready to meet the inventory needs, and all key risk mitigation factors are identified and addressed. The Inventory Analyst will also be responsible for analyzing inventory levels, production speed, and product demand to determine reorder levels which will ensure product availability and minimize inventory costs. They will also manage and monitor inventory accuracy and turnover, and report any issues or discrepancies. They will work with other teams to ensure seamless and efficient distribution center operations.

The day-to-day
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners (purchasing, planning, cost accounting, finance, and logistics) to lead all aspects of inventory management under assigned programs.
  • A professional understanding of material management principles in a global enterprise environment.
  • Ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to remain accountable for core responsibilities and deadlines.
  • Identify and address key risk factors related to inventory management throughout the planning and execution phases.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy and turnover, reporting any discrepancies
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, engineering, industrial technology, related field, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • US Government position. US Citizenship required.

  • Experience analyzing large data sets and use of advanced formulas in excel
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting principles
  • Experience managing cross functional projects and driving them to completion
  • College level coursework in supply Chain, accounting, finance, or logistics
  • APICS CPIM or comparable professional certification
  • Experience working with the Oracle Inventory module and OBIEE reporting tool
  • Experience in an ERP environment with super user responsibilities
  • Experience working with inventory on government property projects
  • Experience stocking and handling ESD/MSD sensitive materials
Salary range $26.92 - $38.46 / hourly. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $33.41 - $45.43/ hourlyAt Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
