Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or technical field with at least 5-7 years of experience in inventory control and management.
Job Description:
- The position's major responsibilities are counting, reconciliation and reporting results of the cycle counting process for all raw material codes in the St. Louis perpetual inventory locations.
- Additionally, the position will be responsible for coordinating and making necessary preparations for annual physical inventory counts.
- At the conclusion of all counts, analyst will provide detailed summary reports of the results achieved and make recommendations for follow-up actions as necessary.
- The Inventory Analyst also conducts duties related to obsolete inventory, revision of negative inventory, calculation of conversion factors, and unplanned issue transactions for training and validation.
- Also, performs analysis of and coordinates day-to-day management of inventory reserve balance.
General Functions, Specific Responsibilities, and Authority:
- Assists in performing daily counts as required by the process.
- Identifies the causes of discrepancies between the records and actual counts on a daily basis.
- Makes recommendations for action plans to correct discrepancies and prevent future discrepancies.
- Summarizes count results using Excel to create graphs, charts, pivot tables, etc.
- Prepares monthly reports on inventory accuracy results for Management Team.
- Ensures that inventory lot control process/practices and cGMP's are being followed.
- The Inventory Analyst provides the necessary assistance and support to the areas where the counts are performed.
- Executes the appropriate reports weekly and clears all negative balances within the system. These amounts are reported on a monthly basis.
- Enters daily counts in the ERP system.
- Enters on a daily basis in SAP all transactions related to requisitions for validation, qualifications, and training material.
Coordinates and makes preparations for annual physical inventories, which includes:
- Working together with the Manufacturing Supervisors, Warehouse Managers, and Material Teams on the PI pre-planning including pre-counts and requisitioning necessary supplies.
- Working with Warehouse and Manufacturing teams on conducting effective PI pre-counts on all manufacturing lines, Inspection areas by providing the coaching and direction to all material handlers and warehouse associates.
- Preparing and validating the PI headcount list with the Manufacturing Supervisors.
- Preparing the PI activity schedule for counting, work order reconciliation, cut-offs, receiving and shipping activities.
- Managing together with Materials and Warehouse the inventory process and analysis.
Analyzing Inventory Reserve Balance
- Tracking and communicating all slow moving and obsolete materials to ensure they are removed/acted upon in a timely manner.
- Ensure status changes are performed in SAP for obsoleted materials to prevent potential usage by manufacturing teams.
- Identifies reserved material eligible for deviation in order to generate savings.
- Assist in coordination of BOM changes driven by ECR's/DCN's involving revision level changes to raw material/components.
- Ensures safe working conditions and practices in the department.
- Ensures good housekeeping is maintained in the work areas.
- Supports the client problem solving initiative by identifying, evaluating, and resolving problems.
- Complete task specific training before performing any task.
- Uses the required clothes, personal and securing protective equipment according to the requirements of it's operation.
- Complies with the cGMP's, quality standards and established policies and/or procedures.
- Executes other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Knowledge, Education, and Skills Required:
- Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or technical field with at least 5-7 years of experience in inventory control and management.
- Basic computer skills and use of software applications.
- Must know how to analyze data and provide Excel graphs, charts, and pivot tables.
- Must have a thorough understanding of all transactions related to inventory in SAP.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must be teamwork oriented.
