We are looking for the BEST employees in the industry to help us grow our business at Sly in Mathiston. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to oversee and manage the scheduling of shipments, the receiving and dispatching of inventory, and inventory control between our plant and a local warehouse. This role requires a proactive individual who can ensure that products and materials flow efficiently throughout the plant and meet the needs of our operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in logistics, shipping/receiving, and driving, with a focus on maintaining accuracy and timeliness in all aspects of the role.Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.What you'll do Logistics Scheduling:
- Coordinate and schedule shipments to ensure timely delivery of materials, parts, and products.
- Work closely with internal teams and suppliers to organize transportation routes and timing.
- Track incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Communicate with carriers to confirm pickup times and shipping details.
Shipping and Receiving:
- Oversee the receipt of incoming goods, ensuring all items are accounted for and that deliveries are made on time.
- Check and verify the accuracy of shipment contents, quality, and quantity.
- Process and document shipping orders, packing lists, and other necessary paperwork.
- Organize and maintain the staging area for incoming and outgoing goods.
- Ensure that shipments are properly labeled, packed, and secured.
Inventory Control:
- Regularly visit the local warehouse to inspect and manage inventory levels.
- Perform inventory counts and reconcile physical stock with system records.
- Assist with inventory audits and report discrepancies.
- Help ensure proper storage and organization of inventory for easy access and optimal space utilization.
Driving and Transportation:
- Operate the company truck to transport goods between the plant and the local warehouse as needed.
- Ensure that the vehicle is maintained, safe, and complies with all company and regulatory requirements.
- Load and unload goods from the truck and ensure that items are securely stored.
Additional Duties:
- Assist in preparing shipments and manage returns when necessary.
- Maintain clear and organized records of all logistics, shipping, and inventory activities.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with the plant manager and other departments to resolve logistics-related issues.
RequirementsExperience:
- Proven experience in logistics, shipping and receiving, or supply chain management (minimum 2-3 years preferred).
- Experience in inventory control or warehouse management.
- Experience driving a company vehicle, with a valid driver's license and clean driving record (CDL not required).
Skills:
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with inventory management software and basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, ERP systems).
- Ability to lift and move packages (up to [weight limit, e.g., 50 lbs]) and handle manual tasks when needed.
