Inventory and Purchasing Specialist
As we continue to grow, effectively managing, coordinating, and sourcing inventory becomes a critical component of our success. As an Inventory and Purchasing Specialist, you will be responsible for inventory management and control for all lines of business. You will oversee in-house inventory levels, handle all procurement activities, and continually work to find the right set of vendors that meet our growing needs.
The Inventory and Purchasing Specialist will work out of our Phoenix, AZ office and will report to the Director of Logistics.
A Day in the Life Will Likely Include:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all inventory related matters
- Manage on-hand inventory levels and inventory demand vs. sales forecasts
- Build and maintain relationships with all Kajeet inventory vendors, including distributors, resellers, and manufacturers. Stay in touch with the dynamic landscape and continually evaluate new sourcing options that can better meet our needs.
- Maintain primary and backup options for the products we purchase in order to navigate demand challenges and better negotiate terms.
- Interface and cooperate with all departments to meet production and customer requirements on time
- Work closely with all sales teams to ensure accurate upstream flow of information around market availability, sourcing options, and pricing
- Generate reports for inventory cycle counts, transfers, and other adjustments to inventory
- Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and end of year inventory tasks, which entail counting finished inventory and materials and reconciliation to ensure accuracy of inventory records
- Build and maintain proper processes to manage and maintain accuracy and flow of inventory through the various warehouses; includes document control and material movement
- Track all customer drop-ship orders shipping direct from vendors to customers, ensuring proper tracking within internal systems.
- Develop and implement efficient inventory management procedures and maintain all required inventory records
- Other related duties as assigned
Sounds good? What You'll Need to Land this Job:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or Business Management
- Experience in procurement, inventory management, and vendor relations
- Familiarity with Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics 365 – Business Central (Sage Intacct also preferred)
- Experience with procurement of consumer electronics and cellular equipment is preferred.
- Experience working with financial and inventory auditors
- Highly effective in a cross-functional team
- Excellent communication, follow-up, and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to travel on-site to warehouse locations to do inventory checks and counts
- Computer literate with proficiency in the Windows environment
- Must have strong self-management skills and excellent people skills
- Must be self-motivated to perform the required duties at a distance without direct supervision
