The primary purpose of this lead Inventory Assistant is to supervise co-workers in the absence of the Stock Manager, grocery shop with the credit card, request, receive, issue, and maintain inventory through the operation of a computer food management program. Position is also responsible for the proper storage of food and provisions and maintaining high levels of sanitation in the work area (stockroom, freezers, and refrigerators). This position plays a large role in providing other staff with the materials needed to prepare meals. Work Schedule: 5:00am -2:00pm with rotating weekends/holidays. Management preferences: Working knowledge of cataloguing and managing inventory for food production and service Working knowledge of FIFO and Food Safety and Sanitation techniques and practices Basic technological knowledge and ability to operate a computer (including Microsoft Word and Excel) Proven ability in multi-tasking and meeting deadlines Proven ability in conducting manual inventory and making rapid and accurate mathematical calculations Proven experience in supervising co-workers and purchasing food and supplies Ability to drive food trucks Prefer staff who have worked in large scale commercial kitchen and, or food service in a medical facility. Physical Requirements: Physical strength to lift and move relatively heavy large cases of food and physical strength for extensive walking.
