Job Description Our client in the Greater Savannah GA area engineers and manufactures the world s finest weapon systems and accessories. We are intensely focused on providing top quality small arms solutions to our military and law enforcement communities as well as to civilians seeking premium rifles for home defense, hunting and sport shooting. As an Inventory Clerk you will be responsible for the functions outlined below: Essential Functions:
- Responsible for demonstrating commitment to and leadership of environmental health and safety principles, policies and procedures.
- Maintain proper inventory level and accuracy on shop floor.
- Ensure all work areas are clean and organized in keeping with 6S principles.
- Ensure FIFO (First in, First out) stock rotation and lot separation (for required inventory items) IS maintained.
- Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
- Ensure that material, inventory and records are monitored and maintained accordingly.
- Perform activities to monitor and maintain inventory control of merchandise or materials.
- Maintain proper inventory level and accuracy on shop floor.
- Refill carts on a daily basis for next day s work.
- Place all parts and finished goods on shelves and in bins in a timely manner.
- Receive inventory in daily from shipping and receiving and update bin labels with accurate counts.
- Stock rotation and lot separation for all items in inventory.
- Assist with monthly cycle count, counting materials, equipment, merchandise or supplies in stock
- Report discrepancies between physical counts and computer records
- Stock and distribute supplies, equipment or merchandise
- Work closely with Order Fulfillment Clerks and fill in when needed.
- Participates in the company s efforts to continuously improve in Safety, 6S, Quality, Delivery and Productivity.
- Expected to be a contributor to the company standards on high integrity, safety, fair and equitable treatment and a positive work environment
- Other responsibilities as deemed appropriate or necessary by leadership.
Job Requirements Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 1+ years of prior working experience in a warehouse/shipping and receiving environment or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Advanced math and analytical skills
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the field.
- Teamwork and the ability to cooperate and work proactively with others is a must.
- Must be able to manage time efficiently.
- Great attention to detail and excellent record keeping skills.
- Ability to work independently and be a self-starter.
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities and work under deadlines and pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, identify and address problems, meet deadlines, and stay within budget.
- Competent with computer software such as Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook Word).
- Demonstrated ability to recognize and work in accordance with our Permission to Play Values.
- Must be able to drive forklift and use pallet jack. (training provided)
- It is understood employees may be assigned to other departments, functional groups, and/or shifts as deemed necessary by management
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting and bending throughout the work day.
- Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment, to include working in and around machinery, exposure to noise and chemicals, lights/lasers, etc.
- Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protection Equipment as required by your position and/or Company policy.
