Inventory Clerk Department:SupplyEffective Date:October 23, 2024Reports to:Supply ManagerSalary Status:Non-exemptSUMMARY:This individual unload merchandise from incoming freight and moves it to the appropriate location in the production and storage areas. This individual ensures all items received are done so with strict adherence to our quality standards. This individual may also operate warehouse equipment such as a forklift or electric pallet jack and scissor lift and must do so safely.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:•Primary responsibility is to ensure that all incoming deliveries are received and put away correctly and completely each day.•Accurately complete all quality control procedures and documents as part of the receiving process. (eg, record temperatures, expiration dates, package conditions, etc.)•Complete all receiving documentation.•Record and report any discrepancies with shipments to supply office.•Perform all duties in the safest manner possible.•Report potential hazards and unsafe work conditions to team lead, lead hand, or manager.•Regular and timely attendance is a requirement for this position.ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:•Perform regular counts of stored materials.•Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shipping area, loading dock, and trash areas.•Complete daily quality logs. (Fridge and freezer times, thawing logs, etc.)•Complete the loss log for tracking spoiled or damaged inventory.•Work closely with the production department to ensure proper stock and inventory of needed materials.•Ensure all equipment is maintained and inspected according to operating procedures.•Adhere to shipping policies/procedures and regulatory compliance procedures.•At times assist and work in other areas as needed.•Perform other duties as assigned.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:•Previous experience required in supplying, purchasing, receiving, or inventory.•Previous experience operating forklift with preference to current forklift certification.QUALIFICATIONS:•Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.•Must be able to count.•Be able to understand documents, such as purchase orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders.•Must be willing to work weekends.•Ability to work quickly and safely•Ability to show flexibility in working in various areas of the department•Ability to know how one's performance affects the areas before and after you•Ability to read and speak to understand instructions from supervisors and co-workersPHYSICAL ENVIRONMENTThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential responsibilities of this job. The noise level may range from moderate to loud.
