Job Description :
Under the supervision of the Supervisor, Finance and Assets, the Inventory Control Specialist oversees and maintains the pharmaceutical supplies for the long-term care pharmacy.Qualifications:
  • Registered with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy, Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred
  • H.S. Diploma/GED
  • 2+ years of pharmacy experience preferred, preferably in long-term care pharmacy, retail, mail order, and/or hospital
  • 1 year Inventory Management and/or Pharmacy Purchasing preferred
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Possesses strong communication skills and professional demeanor
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent computer skills, including pharmacy operations system (FrameworkLTC experience preferred), and moderate-to-strong comprehension of Microsoft Word/Excel
  • Intermediate math skills
  • Provides teamwork and positive oriented attitude
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly reliable and self-motivated
  • Flexible work schedule required
  • Ability to work within deadlines
Responsibilities:
  • Assists staff in preparing orders, ensure accurate billing and shipment of orders, and receive, unpack and enter products into one of our automated inventory systems
  • The Inventory Control Specialist ensures that inventory cycle counts are completed regularly and in a timely manner
  • Assists with procedures for ensuring that adequate inventory levels are present
  • Conducts inventory audit on a regular basis and provides reports to management
  • Audits received drugs for accuracy, quality, and adherence to all special instructions
  • Reports inventory on hand and any drug shortages at management meetings
  • Process prescriptions returns and credits from facilities
  • Regularly reviews inventory for options to improve prescription reimbursement margins
  • Enters and maintains drug formulary in pharmacy software

Reaching requires the straightening and extension of the arm and elbow and the engagement of the shoulder. The elbow does not need to be locked at any time and the arm does not need to remain in a continuously straight position.
