YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Summary:
This position serves as critical support to all areas and/or functions of the district and is primarily responsible for keeping track of inventory changes, maintaining accurate inventory levels, and Reconciles discrepancies in inventories and notifies supervisor of irregularities.
Job Description:
- Responsible for maintaining adequate inventory levels of chemicals for resale.
- Acts as a liaison on interbranch shipments in coordinating and creating shipments for material movement.
- Determines minimum requirements through historical information, customer request, and management guidance for low order point maintenance.
- Monthly, quarterly and annual physical inventory processing.
- Reconcile inventory discrepancies.
- Notification of shipment of all branch-to-branch tickets.
- Maintain files on all branch-to-branch tickets, including incoming and outgoing.
- Modify shipping dates on delivery tickets.
- Monitor holding row for interbranch shipments.
- Responsible for keypunching all tote tanks branch-to-branch.
- Coordinate with distribution branch-to-branch shipments.
- Responsible for Notification of Shipment (NOS) of all incoming branch loads.
- Responsibility and authority to requisition and approve purchases for chemicals to meet customer requirements and inventory needs.
- Responsible for maintaining subcontractor files on Corporate Material Management and all branches where materials are purchased.
- Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process and quality system.
- Identify and record any problems relating to the product process, and quality system.
- Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
- Verify the implementation of solutions.
- Control further processing, delivery or installation of non-conforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
YOUR PROFILE
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, and a minimum of 2 years related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Possess a minimum of 3 to 5 years supply chain experience in chemical distribution.
- Thorough understanding of the important of customer service and the ability to work cooperatively with other branches, departments, and personnel in meeting customer needs.
- Experience with AS400 or other inventory management system.
- Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure; this may include using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and being able to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
- Proficient level of skill in Microsoft Office, AS400 and LotusNotes.
- Possess thorough knowledge of Brenntag products distributed.
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
- Ability to prioritize work to meet time-sensitive deadlines.
- Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff including upper management.
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
