Inventory Director to join our growing cannabis retail team! As the
Inventory Director, you'll oversee and optimize the entire inventory management process, ensuring that our cannabis products are managed in full compliance with state and federal regulations. You will be responsible for leading the Inventory team and ensuring that inventory processes align with operational and regulatory standards to maintain efficiency and accuracy across all areas. Experience:
- Proven experience in inventory management, with a focus on compliance and operational efficiency, preferably within the cannabis industry.
- At least 5 years of experience in an inventory management leadership role.
- Extensive knowledge of METRC, Cannabis Regulatory Agency (CRA) guidelines, and state cannabis laws and regulations.
- A track record of successfully leading inventory teams and implementing best practices for inventory tracking, auditing, and reporting.
Knowledge:
- Deep understanding of cannabis inventory management practices, including product tracking, auditing, and compliance with state regulations.
- Expertise in METRC and other cannabis-specific tracking systems to ensure accurate inventory control and reporting.
- Strong working knowledge of the Michigan Regulation and Taxation of Marihuana Act (MRTMA) and Michigan Medical Marijuana Act (MMMA), with the ability to implement compliance processes within the inventory framework.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, inventory management software, and basic data entry.

What You'll Do:
- Strategic Oversight: Lead the development, implementation, and execution of inventory management strategies across all cannabis products, ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards.
- Team Leadership: Oversee, manage, and mentor the inventory team, providing training on compliance, inventory best practices, and system usage.
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensure the accurate tracking and documentation of all inventory transactions using METRC and internal systems, maintaining full compliance with CRA regulations and state cannabis laws.
- Audit & Quality Control: Conduct regular internal audits, assess inventory discrepancies, and implement corrective actions to ensure accurate product tracking and compliance.
- Operational Efficiency: Develop and optimize inventory processes and workflows, ensuring smooth operations and reducing potential variances or errors.
- Collaboration: Work closely with security, compliance, and other teams to ensure proper product storage, access, and security, and address any inventory-related issues promptly.
- Regulatory Adherence: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Michigan cannabis laws (MRTMA and MMMA) and incorporate these regulations into day-to-day operations.
- Reporting & Analytics: Utilize data to track inventory performance, highlight trends, and generate reports to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
Skills:
- MUST have extensive knowledge of METRC for tracking cannabis inventory.
- MUST have proven experience managing cannabis inventory and compliance programs.
- MUST possess leadership experience and the ability to drive team performance.
- MUST have strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
