Inventory Management Specialist - Forta Corporation : Job Details

Job Summary: The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the successful execution of shipments to customers. This role includes the end-to-end process of procuring freight, scheduling shipments, creating documentation, maintaining positive relationships with transportation providers, and ensuring achievement of customer requirements for shipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Quoting freight rates

• Working with customer service to understand customer needs

• Pulling shipment information from CRM and other systems

• Booking transportation

• Coordinating shipments with production teams

• Confirming shipment information to transportation providers

• Creating documentation for shipments and ensuring availability to customer

• Interfacing with customers, if/when necessary

• Providing freight payables information to accounting team

• Approving freight invoices, as necessary

• Working with transportation providers to understand and/or correct invoices

• Troubleshooting with transportation providers, Forta team, customers

• Day-to-day tasks required to successfully execute shipments

• Successful interactions with transportation providers and positive relationship management

Skills and Abilities Preferred:

• High level of attention to detail.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills are vital for coordinating with providers and internal teams

• Solid understanding of compliance with shipping and safety regulations

• Ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

Education and Experience:

• 1-2 years of experience preferred

• Experience with full truck and less than truckload execution preferred

• Experience using online technology platforms for freight management preferred

• Experience using systems such as SalesForce.com or ERP systems preferred

• Experience working with 3PLs preferred
