Job Type Full-time Description SUMMARY

• Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site by performing the following duties. This position may require overtime to include weekends. May also be required to work off shifts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
• Loads and unloads materials and tools onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand and with fork truck.
• Loads materials into vehicles for shipments.
• Conveys materials and tools from storage or work sites to designated area.
• Secures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination.
• Counts, weighs, and records number of parts in containers and pounds on coil.
• Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on coils, or other containers.
• Lifts heavy objects by hand or with power hoist, cleans work area, machines, and equipment to assist machine operators.
• Assembles boxes to contain products.
• Operates industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
• May be required to work off shifts as needed.
• May work in other areas of either plant based on production requirements.
• Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Must be able to obtain a forklift license.
