Job Summary
The Specialist II, Inventory and Materials Management is responsible for executing a broad range of tasks aimed at optimizing inventory processes and contributing to the continuous improvement of materials management operations. This role involves leading small project teams and applying in-depth knowledge of inventory management principles. The ideal candidate is adept at identifying solutions for complex issues and works independently under general supervision.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Ensure accurate recording of all materials-related transactions, in compliance with accounting standards. Maintain thorough documentation of both incoming and outgoing materials.
* Prepare and interpret inventory-related financial reports, such as inventory valuation and turnover. Provide management with insights and recommend strategies for optimizing inventory performance.
* Analyze discrepancies between expected and actual inventory outcomes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement corrective measures.
* Continuously evaluate inventory management processes, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements, cost savings, and risk mitigation. Propose and implement process enhancements as needed.
* Participate in annual physical inventory counts and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
* Ensure adherence to relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls. Support internal audits by providing accurate documentation and detailed explanations.
* Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
* Minimum of three (3) years of experience in inventory management or a related field.
* Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and cost analysis.
* An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.
Preferred Qualifications
* High attention to detail and ability to work with and analyze large datasets.
* Experience with data analytics and data visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Spotfire, PowerBI). Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
* Analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends, patterns, and discrepancies in data.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
* Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
* Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
* Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
