Job Description :

Manage and communicate specific Key Performance Indicators to organizational stakeholders for inventory (excess, OBS, accuracy, turns, etc…), pricing, internal purchasing order impacts, engineering change notice inventory impacts, and aging. Also support in cross functional continuous improvement activities where material flow, systematic efficiency, storage, and or information flow improvements are identified. Essential Functions:

  • Optimize inventory turns and velocity by using MRP, ERP data, internal planning, and forecasting tools. Work directly with each inventory champion at each of the Lanco sites in scope to achieve successful results, and to communicate issues. Professionally facilitate meetings with key organizational stakeholders where inventory data and actions to improve or adjust may be required. Foster a culture of positive engagement with all locations and support inventory management and control activities organizationally as needed.
  • Provide a method for the systematic escalation of engineering changes that communicates to specific key organizational stakeholders the impact of ECN's on inventory, with the intent to minimize obsolescence and shortages. Escalate, track, and communicate the inventory dollar impact of potential obsolescence as a result of engineering changes at all times.
  • Actively participates in organizational improvement activities where material flow, information flow, logistics, systems, and inventory control are in scope or could be impacted. Also, actively engages all system users in various functional groups to identify where any deficiencies may exist for all current reports and or transactional processes, with intent to improve via lean methodologies, and whilst tracking savings at all times.
  • Takes an active lead with organizational inventory accuracy and provides process, policy, and strategy for inventory cycle counting, adjustments, and accuracy reporting on a month to month basis. This aspect of the role is critical to ensuring inventory accuracy to targets identified by the VP Supply Chain and Logistics. Conduct remote and onsite audits of inventory accuracy, as well as inventory processes to budget, expectations, and targets.
  • Provide point of contact support for the department to assist in and or provide the training of systems and or processes implemented across all plants and business units. Take an active role in the development of all functional processes and team members.
  • Communicate consistently on all activities to appropriate individuals (plant leadership, executive leadership & ownership if requested) within the Lanco companies as a whole.
  • Support supply chain issues as they arise where inventory expertise is required, such as where substitution, deviation, and alternate options are paramount to bridge delivery issues within the supply chain.
  • Special projects as assigned by the Vice President of Supply Chain and Logistics and or Executive Lanco Team Members.

Desired: 5-10 years advanced inventory management and ERP systems experience; Bachelor's Degree Supply Chain, Business Management, and or Logistics. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Position requires knowledge and understanding of inventory management, systematic and information flow, material flow, purchasing, and supply chain execution, preferably in heavy equipment manufacturing. Ability to collect, analyze, and draw conclusions from company data while maintaining confidentiality. Professional interaction with internal and external customers, executive leadership, vendors and service providers while performing inventory management communications, lean initiatives, logistics analysis, supplier reviews, price negotiations, and expedites. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel), experience with one or more ERP systems (ideally Epicor E9), and ability to quickly learn new systems. Physical and Environmental Elements: Although this is primarily an office classification with low/moderate noise levels and controlled temperature conditions, there will be the need to gather shop floor team member feedback, observe material flow opportunities in the warehouses and manufacturing areas, validate inventory location accuracy at Lanco locations and or at offsite locations with various environments. Must be able to lift up to 70lbs in the work environment when validating inventory. Travel may be required up to 20%. Lanco is an equal employment opportunity employer.
