**Job Duties**

* Manage the compliance of all cannabis products.

* Organize the vault and know exactly where every item is located.

* Provide real time reporting of inventory par levels.

* Forecast inventory needs using all available data.

* Perform routine audits to confirm all inventory is present.

* Manage compliance using the Metrc cannabis tracking system.

* Facilitate the intake of all cannabis products.

* Perform inbound and outbound transfers in Metrc.

* Confirm quality control of all cannabis products.

* Confirm proper storage of all cannabis products.

* Confirm all labels are current and compliant, and re-label as necessary.

* Ensure products are in a First In First Out (FIFO) organization.

* Manage and keep current the standard operating procedures of inventory control.

* Manage all quarantined products as dictated by the Cannabis Control Commission.

* Manage all returned cannabis, accessories, and other merchandise.

* Communicate with the retail manager about foreseeable inventory needs.

* Order packaging and labeling materials.

* Manage the compliance and organization of the vault.

* Manage the product menus and communication regarding product availability.

* Portion, package, and label cannabis flower only as needed.

**In Depth**

The Inventory Specialist reports to the Retail Manager and takes direction and guidance from the Lead Inventory Specialist for learning purposes. The Inventory Specialist is accountable for all cannabis inventory on the premises. This person assists the Retail Manager with cannabis purchasing and assures total compliance with CCC inventory regulations and guidance. The Inventory Specialist receives all wholesale orders and ensures manifesting procedures and inbound transfers are performed properly in Metrc and the POS software. If necessary, this person manages all the portioning and packaging of incoming Metrc package tags. The Inventory Specialist guides the daily inventory work orders and ensures all packaged cannabis products are correctly labeled and compliant, ready for the retail sales floor. The Inventory Specialist prepares cannabis inventory for the sales floor each day. They perform inventory transfers as needed throughout the day to ensure seamless inventory availability and congruence with the menu. This person also communicates effectively with the Communications and Sales team as needed to provide the customers with consistent accurate information. The Inventory Specialist is supervised by the Retail Manager and supported by the Security team, the Retail Assistant Managers, and the Inventory Associates.

The Inventory Specialist must become immediately well versed in Metrc and the POS platform. This person promotes a culture of compliance in every action and decision they make. The Inventory Specialist is organized and appreciates consistency and routine. This position requires focus and efficiency to set a standard pace of production. The Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining a secure vault, and accounting for all hands s. The Inventory Specialist provides clear information on the availability, quantity, and specifications of all cannabis and cannabis products to the Leadership Team as well as the Sales Associates. The Inventory Specialist is required to understand the security of the vault, and able to detect if there is any compromise to our security of the vault.

The Inventory Specialist is responsible for quality control. This includes identifying and controlling quality issues with the flower or products before they reach the sales floor and training the inventory team to do the same. The Inventory Specialist is responsible for reporting quality control issues to the Leadership Team if the issue is unable to be resolved immediately.

The Inventory Specialist is responsible for the inventory and ordering of packaging materials as directed by the Leadership Team. The Inventory Specialist is responsible for the inventory of labels and label printing supplies. This position is also responsible for making sure all labels are correct and compliant.

The Inventory Specialist is responsible for receiving the intake of all cannabis flower and cannabis products. This includes confirming that the weights and quantities of the incoming product exactly matches the information on the Metrc transfer manifest. The Inventory Specialist is responsible for the internal tracking procedures after all information is confirmed as correct and the manifested products are transferred to the vault. The Inventory Specialist performs regular audits of the cannabis inventory.

The Inventory Specialist is responsible for tracking and reporting the inventory of non-cannabis inventory as well including merchandise, accessories, and Bud's stuff. Other roles will assist in procuring these items.

The Inventory Specialist is responsible for internal cash handling in support of the retail team. They are responsible for preparing cash drawers for each POS, as well as reconciliation of the drawers in support of the sales agents as they change shifts or close for the day. This involves ensuring counts are accurate, ensuring procedures for cash transfers are followed and documented properly, and that access to the vault safe is restricted to authorized personnel only.

The Inventory Specialist understands the importance of professional boundaries with coworkers and sets the example of the company values and culture. The Inventory Specialist always attributes success to the staff, yet always takes accountability when there are shortcomings or failures. **A Day in the Life of an Inventory Specialist**

If you are opening the store, you will likely be the first one in. You confirm the counts of the cannabis inventory in the totes and digitally transfer the totes to the Sales Floor. You confirm all products are stickered, all Lil' Bud's are good to go, etc. You confirm E-commerce is current with Lil' Bud's and other items in constant motion. You will prioritize your day to receive wholesale deliveries as they arrive and transfer them inbound, both physically into the vault and virtually in Metrc.

During sales hours you take lead in ensuring seamless inventory flow to the sales floor. You communicate inventory needs, menu changes, and product updates to the Retail Manager. You hold ultimate accountability for maintaining a secure vault. If you are the Inventory personnel closing the store, then you are responsible for reconciling the inventory from the sales floor and restocking it for the next day. You are also responsible for final reconciliation of all cash drawers and for preparing deposits and starting banks for the next day.
