They are a leading manufacturer of commercial motors, industrial motors, appliance motors, and controls. The product line features a full line of high efficiency motors for industrial applications in water treatment, mining, oil and gas, and power generation, and for commercial applications such as pool and spa, condensers, cooling towers and large refrigeration units. We are currently seeking an experienced Inventory Supervisor for their Southaven facility. Job Summary: The Inventory Supervisor will have responsibility for managing the inventory cycle counting, reporting functions, and inventory reconciliation processes and KPI's. Responsibilities also include management of receiving activities of employees that handle items and deliveries regarding the unloading, intake, storage, and distribution of items. Position reports to the Senior Operations Manager, working as part of the Southaven Customer Service Center management team to drive continuous improvement through the use of metrics to achieve logistics excellence in service, quality and cost. Key Responsibilities: • Overall inventory management responsibilities supporting the supply chain and manufacturing • Implement Center of Excellence (COE) best practices for inventory management • Develop and implement end-to-end Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) supporting inventory visibility • Drive Corporate wide month and quarter ending reconciliations with Finance • Maintain and communicate inventory metrics on a weekly and monthly basis • Partner to identify and investigate inventory discrepancies, determine root causes, and develop and implement solutions to inventory management processes • Direct and lead continuous cycle count initiatives and physical audits • Develop and continuously improve inventory slotting strategies in collaboration with the Industrial Engineering and operations teams • Collaborate cross-functionally with customer service, transportation, product, and other teams as necessary to identify and resolve issues that impact inventory • Keep abreast of import transportation industry trends, market, and current events. Monitor container booking activities particularly at the peak season Education and Experience: • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field • 5+ years of experience in inventory management or related role • Minimum of 3 years' experience in leadership • Proven experience with warehouse, operations and enterprise management systems and processes • Demonstrated analytical, organizational, problem solving and creative thinking skills • LEAN / Six Sigma certification a plus Skills: • Computer literacy to include Warehouse Management Systems and MS Office (Word, Excel, Internet Explorer) • Previous experience with WMS in Microsoft Dynamics and ORACLE environments a plus. • Ability to follow and adhere to policies and procedure including Federal State and local laws (Ethics, Sarbanes-Oxley, General Accounting, etc.) • Communication skills-ability to communicate with all levels within the organization to include customers, corporate office contacts, employees and managers. • Strong organizational skills • Analytical and planning skills • Ability to develop working relationships as a team player; and able to work independently. • High level of integrity • High degree of accuracy; extreme attention to detail, strong problem solver, able to create solutions to challenges in an expedient manner. • Must be willing to adjust work schedule for Inventory needs (physical inventory, inventory prep, etc.) Physical Demands: • Position requires sitting, walking, stooping, bending, talking in person and by phone or video; the stamina to work the shift as scheduled and on a regular basis, ability to work in a non-climate controlled facility with exposure to heat and/or cold in accordance with weather conditions, lifting large, small or awkwardly shaped items on a regular or repeated basis as needed; extensive use of computer equipment. • The physical demands described here and above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
