About this job:
Assists the District in achieving its goal of providing an open, diverse and inclusive learning and working environment by conducting prompt, thorough and objective investigations. Conducts preliminary intake interviews and assesses reports of discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct, retaliation and other workplace misconduct that violates district policies. Determines whether a formal investigation is warranted by the facts of each case and conducts formal investigations, including drafting notices of investigations, interviewing witnesses, reviewing documents and creating written evidence summaries, and drafting final investigation reports. Works to minimize employee relations related liability.

What You'll Do:
* Performs intake of informal and formal complaints and identifies the relevant scope of complaints; makes recommendations of interim measures, when needed.
* Receives, reviews and investigates allegations related to the District's policies addressing non-discrimination, harassment, retaliation and other workplace misconduct that violates district policies.
* Receives, reviews and investigates allegations from students, employees and community members concerning unlawful discrimination, harassment, retaliation and violations of labor/employment law.
* Prepares investigation plans and interview questions by analyzing the complaint, and identifying the issues, potential witnesses and types of documentation to request/review.
* Develops an investigation plan that will foster a timely, fair, thorough and impartial investigation.
* Writes clear, concise, thorough investigation reports that will support efficient decision-maker review and application.
* Develops and implements training relative to the District's, federal and state anti-harassment and non-discrimination laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
What You'll Need:
* Bachelor's degree required.
* Three (3) or more years experience conducting employee misconduct investigations, including Title IX investigations.
* Three (3) or more years professional level experience interviewing parties for the purposes of fact-finding, including but not limited to conducting deposition, workplace investigations, and student conduct proceedings.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Google products including Word, Excel, Outlook, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides.
* Effective time management and organizational skills.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong analytical ability and reasoning skills.
* Proven ability to handle multiple investigations simultaneously.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality.
* Works collaboratively with others on a team.
* Extensive knowledge of federal and state employment laws related to Title IX, discrimination, harassment and retaliation.
* Knowledge of personnel rules and practices as well as the procedures of dispute resolution.
* Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education.
