Job Profile

The bank is searching for an Investment Banker (Leveraged Finance) who will be responsible for originating, underwriting, and syndicating debt transactions for corporate and sponsor clients.

Play an important role in advising clients on a range of market and strategic matters, including assessment of capital structure alternatives and financing options.

Education Level

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field

Work Experience

  • Ideally, experience working within credit risk control or leverage finance in investment banking
  • Good understanding and hands-on exposure to assessing credit risk

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assess and analyze credit risk as the 1st line of defense and present recommendations to the credit committee
  • Lead all phases of the deal process including due diligence, financial modeling, drafting internal credit memos, rating agency and investor presentations
  • Lead client negotiations, Q&A process, and management interviews
  • Liaising with other internal and external parties on transactions (e.g. lawyers, accountants, counterparties)
  • Manage and support the development of junior investment bankers
  • Reviewing and managing junior workstreams across the deal cycle from origination/initial pitch through to marketing/execution of the opportunity
  • Support efforts of senior investment bankers in the origination of opportunities across the corporate and private equity landscape
  • Support syndication efforts of credit transactions to market
  • Working with internal partners in credit risk control in assessing risk positions

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Ability to partner with other groups across the bank
  • Solid financial analysis skills, with the ability to produce accurate presentation material quickly
