Responsibilities
Investment banking is a core business line of GLBA and is responsible for the origination and execution of all investment banking and ECM transactions by SG Americas. This includes equity and equity-linked new issues, and other investment banking transactions. The department is fully integrated into the global ECM and investment banking platforms and works closely with counterparts in Europe and Asia.
- Keep abreast of market developments and provide relevant market updates to the team, including following global capital markets, investor sentiment, and equity fund flows.
- Point person on a deal team for organizing and putting together client presentations.
- Conduct and model a broad range of corporate financing alternatives and due diligence for client transactions.
- Perform financial modeling and valuation analyses as well as market-specific analysis.
- Develop and participate in client pitches to advise on investment banking transactions.
- Work on transaction execution, including preparation of marketing materials for the JV equity sales and coordinating the collection from equity sales of investor feedback on new issues.
- Build strong relationships with colleagues in Europe and Asia, and among the U.S. banking teams.
Profile Required
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in financial analysis.
- Expertise in all necessary software programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Experience in working with Bloomberg data.
Competencies:
- Strong presentation skills, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work in a team structure.
- Capacity to understand complex financial structures.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced, pressure-oriented environment and deliver under tight deadlines.
- Solid understanding of financial markets.
Experience Needed:
- At least 3 years of prior relevant experience.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher level from a competitive program with a preference for degrees in business, finance, and/or accounting.
