Job Description :
POSTION: IPS Employment Specialist DEPARTMENT: Adult ServicesSUPERVISED BY: Vocational Rehab Service CoordinatorJOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Carries out the services of the IPS Supported Employment program by assisting mental health clients to obtain and maintain employment that is consistent with their vocational goals.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with hiring managers to stay abreast of current and future hiring and business needs
  • Develop and maintain positive community business relationships for the purpose of matching individuals to jobs in their communities
  • Constant communication with decision makers and hiring managers
  • Engages clients and establishes trusting, collaborative relationships
  • Has the skills and knowledge to help clients move into competitive jobs
  • Understands that work can help people manage mental illness
  • Understands that people learn and grow from their experiences
  • Shows interest to increase knowledge about IPS Supported Employment.
  • Conduct assessments and develop rehabilitation plans that fit client's values, strengths, limitations, and goals
  • Documents rehabilitation contact notes, meetings and monthly progress reports
  • Work with clients to establish job development techniques and equip client with necessary skills and resources in their search for employment.
  • Provide on the job training and coaching to individuals at their job sites
  • Effectively communicate with each individual, their support team and employers; providing updates as necessary
  • Develop and implement productive weekly schedule to ensure quality customer service to businesses and clients
  • Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Social Services or Related FieldMaster's degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Services or Related Field CERTIFICATION: Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) - (Preferred)EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities
  • Prefer knowledge of mental health and substance abuse
  • Experience providing employment services
