Job Title: IT Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Remote, however must reside in Austin Metro region

Job Type: Contract

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure and Operations Support Specialist to support our clients Cloud Migration initiative. The role involves providing comprehensive system administration, security, and infrastructure support. The ideal candidate will analyze and monitor both on-premises and cloud security operations, perform security architecture reviews, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Candidates must have in-depth knowledge of industry standards and cybersecurity trends and expertise in the latest cybersecurity software.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Windows and Linux operating system and application support.
  • Deliver network and data processing support, including security software and performance monitoring.
  • Monitor and implement security measures to safeguard computer systems, networks, and data.
  • Conduct security architecture reviews and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Proactively research new threats, vulnerabilities, and exploits to enhance security measures.
  • Support database management for Oracle, MSSQL, and Postgres environments.
  • Collaborate with users and stakeholders to address issues such as access needs, violations, and security changes.
  • Prepare detailed written and verbal reports to communicate findings, recommendations, and remediation plans effectively.
  • Orchestrate project calls, including kick-off, issue notifications, and test reviews.
  • Assist in implementing and monitoring security systems to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Develop and enforce corrective action plans in alignment with NIST 800-37, NIST 800-53, and MARS-E controls.
  • Ensure all security systems remain updated with software or hardware changes.

Candidate Skills and Qualifications

  • 8 years: Proven ability to identify problems, analyze alternatives, and recommend effective solutions.
  • 8 years: Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems and applications.
  • 8 years: Advanced knowledge of network facilities, hardware/software, security software, and capacity management tools.
  • 8 years: Experience coordinating project calls for issues, findings, and remediation recommendations.
  • 8 years: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report preparation.
  • 8 years: Hands-on experience implementing security measures and staying ahead of emerging threats.
  • 8 years: Expertise in ensuring network security and addressing system updates.
  • 8 years: Familiarity with NIST 800-37, NIST 800-53, MARS-E controls, and corrective action plans.
  • 8 years: Ability to review security violations and collaborate with stakeholders on remediation strategies.
  • 8 years: Experience supporting Oracle, MSSQL, and Postgres databases.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years: Experience with Archer GRC, Dynatrace, Splunk, Imperva Web Application Firewall, Qualys, and MS Office tools.
  • 5 years: Ability to train staff on information security procedures and best practices.
  • 2 years: Familiarity with ITIL methodologies and ticketing tools such as Remedy and ServiceNow.
