About the Role
Heyday is seeking a hands-on IT Manager to join our growing technology team. This role combines day-to-day technical operations with strategic planning opportunities, making it ideal for an experienced IT professional ready to step into their first management role. As the IT Manager, you will both lead and execute technology initiatives across our owned & operated, and franchise partner locations. Reporting to the VP of Technology and based in New York City, this position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your leadership skills while maintaining technical expertise.
What You'll Do
Manage daily IT operations hands-on, including system maintenance (via MDM), troubleshooting, and user support across all Heyday locations
Actively participate in technical work, creating a balance between direction/delegation and hands-on problem solving
Implement and maintain IT infrastructure, including networks, hardware, software, and security systems
Drive technical projects from planning to execution, focusing on both immediate needs and future scalability
Provide direct technical support for complex issues while developing and documenting standard operating procedures
Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with external service providers to ensure quality support and cost-effective solutions
Monitor and maintain security protocols and compliance standards across all systems
Create and maintain IT documentation, including processes, procedures, and training materials
Develop and track IT budgets with guidance from senior leadership
Balance strategic planning with day-to-day operational demands
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and support business needs through technology solutions
The Ideal Candidate
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
5+ years of hands-on IT experience
Strong technical background in SaaS administration, system maintenance, and IT security
Experience with retail technology systems and point-of-sale software is a plus
Demonstrated ability to balance tactical execution with strategic thinking
Basic project management experience and budget management skills
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff
Experience in multi-unit operations is a big plus
Adaptable and willing to both lead and execute tasks as needed
Customer service-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal skills
