This position will serve as the IT Service Desk Center - Unit A Supervisor providing leadership and management oversight to unit staff for assigned areas that provides maintenance service and support of DoIT managed voice, video, data, and wireless services. This position will manage staff and provide direction in the tracking and resolution of service requests and incidents involving MS Office Suite, anti-virus software and enterprise standard desktop operating systems. In this role you will participate in the development, review, negotiation, and approval of contracts for service and equipment, supports vendor due diligences, vendor development, and performance management. Essential Functions

* Under general supervision, serves as the IT Service Desk Center - Unit A Supervisor for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT).

* Serves as working supervisor.

* Manages staff and provides direction in the tracking and resolution of service requests and incidents involving MS Office Suite, anti-virus software and enterprise standard desktop operating systems.

* Participates in the development, review, negotiation, and approval of contracts for service and equipment, supports vendor due diligences, vendor development, and performance management.

* Performs other duties as required which are reasonably within the scope of the duties and responsibilities enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

* Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, with courses in management information systems, data processing, telecommunications, or a directly related information technology field.

* Requires prior experience equivalent to three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in management information systems, data processing, telecommunications, or a directly related information technology field in a public or business organization.

Specialized Skills

* Requires three (3) years of professional experience with technical customer support and/or service desk experience with an IT or telecom organization including a ticketing system for entering, assigning, and monitoring incidents and provisioning requests.

* Requires three (3) years of supervisory experience in a technical customer support or service desk environment.

* Requires three (3) years of professional experience with the remote desktop management, network administrative account management and setup, anti-virus software, and enterprise standard desktop operating systems.

* Requires three (3) years of professional experience with desktop emulations, IT monitoring tools, and MS Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

* Three (3) years of professional experience with technical customer support and/or service desk experience with an IT or telecom organization including a ticketing system for entering, assigning and monitor incidents and provisioning requests.

* Three (3) years of supervisory experience in a technical customer support or service desk environment.

* Three (3) years of professional experience with the remote desktop management, network administrative account management and setup, anti-virus software and enterprise standard desktop operating systems.

* Three (3) years of professional experience with desktop emulations, IT monitoring tools, and MS Office Suite.

* Extensive knowledge of network administrative account management & setup.

* Ability to analyze administrative problems and adopt an effective course of action to resolve.

* Ability to develop and manage supportive agency program operations.

* Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships.

* Developed verbal and written communication skills to present technical information to others with clarity and precision.

Pursuant to the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act (5 ILCS 420/4A et seq.), specific state officials and employees are required to annually submit Statements of Economic Interest to the Office of the Secretary of State, which will be accessible to the public for examination and copying. Employees subject to this requirement must also file a Supplemental Statement of Economic Interest with the Executive Ethics Commission, as specified in Executive Order 15-09. Failure to submit these statements in a timely manner may result in fines and penalties.

* Requires the ability to lift and carry objects or equipment weighing up to 20 pounds. This is considered light work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor (20 CFR 404.1567(b)). Light work involves lifting no more than 20 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
