Position Overview
Coordinate maintenance to the local area network by performing duties professionally or through
subordinate supervisors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
* Provide the first line of support and contact for students, faculty and staff seeking technical assistance in person, over the phone or by email.
* Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software.
* Performing remote troubleshooting through diagnostic procedures and pertinent questions.
* Knowledge of RAID, SCSI, and SATA configurations are required.
* Need to have a clear and working knowledge of Windows Server 2012 and above, Windows 10 and above, Windows Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Domain Controller feature roles. TCP/IP protocol and IP addressing scheme.
* Making good decisions and excellent multi-tasking skills are key requirements.
* Need to be able to communicate well with technical and non-technical individuals.
* Establishes and maintains network users, user environment, directories and security.
* Respond to the needs and questions of network users concerning their access to resources on the network and the operation of various software programs.
* Communicate with other departments to report and resolve software, hardware (desktops), and operations problems.
* Develop and communicate standards for use, operations, security of network, personal computers and related data.
* Install and test software upgrades.
* Familiar with Help Desk Ticketing software (Spice-Works, Remedy, or Service NOW)
* Responsible for responding to Helpdesk Tickets in timely manner
* Basic understanding of networking and switch technology

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university or 3-5 years of related experience and/or
Training in Computer Science or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
The ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical
Procedures or governmental regulations. The ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
Mathematical Skills
The ability to calculate figures and amounts such as, discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages,
Area circumference and volume. Have the ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
The ability to define problems and collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. The ability to
Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions with mathematical diagrams to deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
A+, Network+, CAN, CNE, MCP, and MCSE certification a plus but not required
