IT Support Specialist II (Atwater)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Demonstrates effective communication and problem-solving skills.
* Install and maintain hardware.
* Install and maintain software.
* Troubleshoot hardware/software problems.
* Provide tier 1 and tier 2 support to end-users.
* Assist with the general operations of the IT department.
* Other duties and tasks as assigned.
Physical Demands
* The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25-50 pounds and push up to 100 pounds (on wheels).
* Must be able to speak clearly in order to communicate information to End Users and Staff.
* Must be able to hear staff on the phone and in person.
* Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision for RJ45 pin-outs, computer screens, and the ability to adjust focus.
* Must be comfortable in tight or confined crawl spaces.
Work Environment
The noise level in the work environment is usually average.
Education/Experience Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
* Knowledge of Windows Operating System, TCP/IP, Internet, Microsoft Office, and Networking required.
* Speak respectfully and professionally and in terms that both novice and experienced computer users can understand.
* Work on multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
* Travel to multiple sites.
* Excellent oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
* Develop knowledge base articles.
Education/Experience
* High School diploma or GED required.
* Associate Degree or certifications with information technology focus preferred, one (1) year of IT experience may be substituted for relevant education or technical certification.
* Two (2) years of experience supporting computer software and hardware required.
* Advanced knowledge of commonly supported computer software and hardware required.
* Advanced knowledge of IT Service Management processes required.
* A valid CA driver's license and insurance is required.
