Nashville Wire Products, an established local manufacturer of steel wire products, is currently seeking candidates to fill an opening in their IT Department. This role is a full-time, in office position, requiring occasional travel and periodic after-hours availability to perform critical maintenance tasks. Benefits eligibility commences on the first of the month following 30 days of service and includes access to major medical, dental, and vision plans. At six months of service, all salaried associates receive 40 hours of vacation followed by a graduated schedule of increasing hours based on years of service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides front line support, guidance, and expertise to associates.
- Performs on-site maintenance and deployment of desktop and server systems as well as network and security equipment.
- Monitors internal ticketing system, performs triage to either resolve or re-route incidents to the appropriate support group.
- Recognizes, researches, isolates, and resolves complex information systems problems.
- Installs, configures, maintains, and troubleshoots Microsoft operating systems and productivity suites.
- Conducts basic wired and wireless network troubleshooting to include cable verification and termination.
- Provides technical expertise in the planning, evaluation, and implementation of computer and communication technology.
- Interfaces with both internal stakeholders and third-party support groups to develop logical, impactful solutions to technical hurdles.
- Maintains and manages detailed asset assignment records to meet IT Director's requirements.
- Develops and adheres to a routine maintenance schedule for reboots, patch testing, and patch installation.
- Manages warranty/maintenance contracts for internal systems.
- Documents solutions to recurring information systems issues to improve support response times.
- May assist with selection of hardware and software vendors and solicit bids from both.
Desired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with two to five years practical experience. Commensurate combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Minimum 2 years experience with service desk support
- Minimum 2 years experience with Windows desktop and server operating systems
- Minimum 2 years experience with Android and iOS device support and administration
- Minimum 2 years experience with general hardware support and troubleshooting
- Intermediate understanding of other Microsoft technologies including Active Directory, M365, Entra, Teams, Intune, and NPS
- Intermediate understanding of core networking concepts and services like DNS, DHCP, and RADIUS
- In current possession of or willingness to apply for a passport and global entry
Language Skills: Candidates should be able to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical literature, financial reports, and legal documents. Fluency with Spanish desired but not required. Math Skills: Candidates should be able to perform basic mathematic calculations as well as compute and interpret statistical data. Reasoning Ability: Candidates should be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and should also be able to process problems involving several fluid or concrete variables within a standardized framework.
