Job Description :

We are looking for a self-motivated and driven on-site IT Technician to join our team at Abacus IT! In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support to clients, maintaining and troubleshooting computer systems, and ensuring seamless operation of IT services.

On-site IT Technician Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve service tickets to provide senior-level technical IT support to local and remote clients.
  • Perform hardware and software installations and updates.
  • Document client issues thoroughly, ensuring an audit trail for all work performed and accountability for time spent supporting clients.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with company best practices and standards.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients and team members, facilitating high customer satisfaction.
  • Additional projects include moving clients to cloud virtual desktop environments, migrating network file shares to SharePoint Online, transitioning from classic AD to Azure AD, and implementing security features.
  • Assist with onboarding new clients

Technical knowledge you should have:

  • Cybersecurity best practices
  • Network troubleshooting skills
  • Active Directory and Azure AD
  • Microsoft Exchange and M365
  • Hands-on configuration and troubleshooting of switches, routers, and firewalls
  • Patch panel and cabling knowledge
  • Antivirus experience (Sentinel One and Webroot preferred)
  • Windows and Mac OS
  • Windows Desktop Support (printers, networking, virus removal, VPN, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of data recovery
  • Hard drive RAID configuration
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications

Skills and competencies:

  • Strong communication skills, including documentation, end-user communication, and exceptional client relations.
  • Extreme troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze, anticipate, and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including effective time management, self-motivation, and prioritization.
